Research on forming integral health advice

Together with a colleague we conducted research in which other public health institutions were interviewed on the question: how to form interdisciplinary supported strategy in which health factors are integrally observed and weighed in. Aside from the external interviews we researched our own department to find out how health professional observe current collaboration on tactical and strategic decision making.

From idea to a supported pilot

Based on our research we made a proposal for a systemic intervention that improves strategic and tactical decision making. We tested and improved this proposal with senior health and organisational experts from our own department. The improved proposal was accepted by the management team to pilot throughout 2024.

Bridge the gap

With our intervention we not only hope to improve strategic and tactical health advice, but also to dissolve the perceived hierarchy between professionals and management. From our internal research it became clear that the top-down approach limited the professionals in contributing their knowledge to strategic and tactical decisions. With our intervention we hope to bridge the gap and empower the floor by allowing a bottom-up approach on decision making.
